Belly dance is a Western name for a style of dance developed in the Middle East and other Arabic-influenced areas. In Europe, it is sometimes called an oriental dance. Similarly, In Turkish it is referred to as oryantal dansi ("Dance of the East"). In the Arabic it is known as raqs sharqi ??? ???? ("eastern dance") or sometimes raqs baladi ??? ???? ("national" or "folk" dance). The term "raqs sharqi" may have originated in Egypt.

	Sheerin and Suhailah met each other while studying belly dance. They realized there was a passion being displayed during class and mutual love and admiration for the art of belly dancing. They both remeber the first time they met and spoke to each other. They were learning how to play finger symbols and Sheerin reminded Suhailah that the rhythm was tea DUN teca DUN (they still laugh when they remember this day). Ever since this day they have been inseperable and this is why they call themselves "Belly dance Souls". As time has passed they have followed through relentless class searching. Basically looking for great instructors within the tri-state area. They are extremely happy with the result, specially after such dedication. Throughout the years they have studied with the best teachers. Now they share their passion for this art with others by performing at restaurants and family parties.
